David Moffat, of Northumberland, a convicted child sex offender who was jailed back in 2017 and has just been jailed again after speaking to ANOTHER underage ‘girl’.
Moffat, who was jailed under the new legislation in 2017 has been jailed again after speaking to what he thought was a 13-year-old ‘girl’. His last offence followed the same pattern, however this time he was speaking to a decoy, rather than a real child.
He approached the ‘girl’, on a chat app and told the girls age straight away, even though her age was on her profile and the app allowed children who were young as 13 sign up.
He asked the ‘girl’, aged 13 to meet up with him and have sex, however no meet took place and he got cold feet which followed by him blocking the ‘girl’ and deleting his profiles.
He denied the offences whilst on remand in prison, claiming ‘girls’ of the decoys age couldn’t sign up to the app, we done a video showing ‘girls’ of the decoys age could sign up and he plead guilty to 2x child sex offences as the video showing this was submitted to his defence.
He has been jailed for 2 years 9 months in addition to his jail sentence, he must also sign the sex offenders register and abide by a sexual harm prevention order (SHPO).
