Daniel Fyfe, of Choppington, was caught in an online sting by the group Dark Justice after grooming what he thought was two underage girls aged 13 and 15.
The Health Care Assistant who worked in a residential care home arranged to meet one of the ‘girls’ straight after his shift and traveled to Heaton Park, where he was soon arrested and interviewed by police about his online activities.
He admitted on camera he had been chatting to underage girls.
At newcastle crown court the court heard how Fyfe groomed what he thought were two ‘girls’ but they were actually fictitious profiles made by Dark Justice operatives, throughout his communication with the decoys he sent sexual messages, telling them he wanted oral sex, kissing and sent indecent images of himself.
At Newcastle Crown Court Fyfe pleaded guilty to attempting to meet a child following grooming and attempted sexual communication with a child.
He has now been jailed for 15 months and must abide by a Sexual Harm Prevention Order and sign the Sex Offenders Register both for 10 years.
